Create Email Forwarders
Posted by SEOWH Admin on 15 January 2015 03:22 PM
Forwards simply allow you to automatically forward email sent to one account to another account. This is useful when you work at two separate locations, or have gone on holiday.

To forward mail from one account to two or more accounts, just add two or more forwards for the account that is being forwarded. To add a forwarder:
  1. Log into your cPanel account
  2. Click on the Forwarders link in the Mail area
  3. Click on the Add Forwarder link
  4. Enter the first part of the e-mail address that will be forwarded in the first field
  5. Choose the required domain from the drop-down list
  6. Enter the full e-mail address that the forwarder will forward mail to in the second field.
  7. Click on the Add Forwarder button

Forward Emails Without Saving Them

If you use the 'Forwarders' menu of your cPanel to forward email from to, all email sent to will not just be forwarded to, but will also be saved in the mailbox of (unless you haven't created an email account for in the 'Email Accounts' section of your cPanel).

This could be a problem if, for example, you have little free disk space available with your account.

To prevent email forwarded to from being saved in the mailbox of, do not use the Forwarders menu. Use the User Level Filtering > Manage Filters > Create a new Filter menu of your cPanel instead. Create a filter to forward and then discard email, like so:

From matches regex

Redirect to email     (hit the '+'-button here)
Discard Message

The above will affect all mail sent to If you only want to forward a specific subset of mail sent to, change the 'Rules' accordingly.

Note: while simply deleting your email account can be a solution to this problem in some cases, in other cases it is preferable to keep an email account for An example of the latter: when you want to reply to mail forwarded from to with your address, it is a good idea to send it through the SMTP server of (in order for the reply to not appear as a redirect to the recipient, as would happen in Outlook clients etc.). To use the SMTP server of, you need to have an email account for it. This option is also available for Gmail users.
